Making the Most of Summer Events
Now that more events are here again and life is on its way back to “normal” compared to the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, we expect this summer to be packed with community events. Art shows, festivals, and more that welcome local vendors are terrific opportunities to market your business…but only if you know how to use them.
To get the most out of your investment in a community event, try these essential tips:
Tell Customers Ahead
Yes, the event is meant to market your business to new customers or patients, but one way to show those new customers how beloved you are is to have a presence of existing fans too. Let your current customers and patients know that you’ll be at the event and invite them to stop in to say hi (or, better yet, stop in to get a discount or a freebie). You’ll generate more traffic to your booth overall which attracts more new customers who see how popular you are.
Make It Active
Most booths at community events are rather forgettable. There are signs, a few pamphlets, and maybe a free pen or stress ball. You want to stand out. If you have the space, try incorporating a game or activity into your booth. It could be something simple, like tossing a ball into jars of water, but find a way to make it applicable to your business. It will attract traffic and make you more memorable to your potential new patients
Don’t Underestimate Your Staffing Needs
If all goes well, you’ll have several guests at your booth at a time. You want to be able to give each of them some attention without taking away from other guests. Make sure you have at least a few staff members at the booth at any given time so you can field multiple questions.
If your community is back to having local events this summer, you don’t want to pass up those terrific opportunities for facetime with new customers. The tips above can help you maximize your return and, better yet, continue getting to know your neighbors.
